Depression pills are usually prescribed tablets by the psychiatrists. Many times a person, despite taking the pills, doesn’t qualify for a better life. The attack is so horrible that he loose the control over steering of his life and his life imbalances at any point of time posing a threat to his life.

There are numerous reasons of depression. Loneliness is believed to be the key factor which leads a person to fall in an absolute negative zone and it takes one level to another until the siren sounds loud in midnight.

What happened in Navi Mumbai was a shocking truth of depression. Navi Mumbai resident Anup Kumar Nair had isolated him and had remained locked in his house since 2022, following the death of his parents. Food packets, mountains of garbage, cloths strewn about, broken furniture and layers of dust was what social workers found when former techie Anup Kumar Nair opened the door of his Navi Mumbai home. He lost both of his parents in the last six years, while his brother died by suicide over two decades ago. This allegedly left him battling severe depression, which led him to isolate from the world. He chose to keep a distance from some of the relatives who tried to contact him for support. Nair was a computer programmer by profession, his mother worked in the telecommunications branch of the Indian Air Force and his father was employed at Mumbai’s Tata Hospital.

Technological advancements, difficult social cohesion, social dimensions and disconnections, comprised values, concept of self-dependency and competency are among the key architects of changing social behavior.

From joint to nuclear and nuclear to semi nuclear, the foundation of family system has gone through a downhill path navigating through silent darkness. Most of us can feel it.

Success is worshipped and failures are mocked. Regrets are permanent and excuses are unwelcomed. Personal life has been overpowered by professional characteristics and an individual has been left alone to deal with all the deeds, attributed to him his near and dear ones. 

Suicides are a new trend in metro cities and have become a new normal due to so many parallel events. Nair could survive because he was not numbered but there are many Nair(s), numbered and can be seen deleted at any point of time. 

The great poet William Shakespeare once narrated seven stages of life : The infant, the schoolboy, the lover, the soldier, the justice, the pantaloon and old age. Hope is what believes to be good as breakfast but bad when served in dinner. What if an old age man is tasked something that’s supposed to be done by an infant. It happens. It’s happening.
